This forms the second part of Derma Medical’s accredited cosmetic training pathway in the delivery of nonsurgical cosmetic injectable treatments. Stage 2 candidates will need to complete 5 supervised treatment days under our supervision to build up the required portfolio and gain a level of proficiency in the delivery of cosmetic injectables is achieved. This is a central stage in-line with Health Education England guidelines.

The clinical placement supports HEE requirements and enables candidates to further develop their Stage 1 training and complete the requirements of 10 observed and 10 supervised treatments in Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers required for portfolio sign-off.

Stage 2 candidates will treat live patients under expert guidance and will be mentored from consultation to aftercare for each patient treated. Stage 2 will be spread across multiple clinical placement days until the required number of observed and supervised treatments are completed for portfolio sign-off. Each delegate must demonstrate date-stamped photographic evidence of their treatments before and after each treatment prior to submission.

Supervised Treatment Days – Administer 10 Botulinum Toxin and 10 Dermal Fillers treatments under supervision by our Level 7 trainers across a number of supervised treatment days. Delegates will need to attend 5 Supervised Treatment Days to complete their portfolio of 40 treatments.

Upon satisfactory completion of Stage 2, candidates will be given a clinical reference and be able to progress to formal assessment at Stage 3.

PDO Thread Lift Training Course Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of Stage 2, candidates will be able to:

✔ Safely and confidently inject botulinum toxin to treat glabellar, frontalis and orbicularis oculi areas of the face

✔ Safely and confidently inject dermal fillers to treat Nasolabial, Marionette and Lip areas of the face

✔ Confidently draw out injection landmarks and danger zones prior to treatment

✔ Practice and develop different injection techniques with various products

✔ Confidently develop your aesthetic consultation skills, treatment plans and aftercare/follow-up reviews for each patient

✔ Gain experience in running an aesthetic clinic

✔ Develop your skills in verbal, written and photographic consent for each procedure

✔ Create a portfolio of observed and supervised botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatments as per HEE requirements

✔ Secure a reference and certificate from a clinical supervisor enabling progression to Stage 3 assessment

Stage 2 Entry Criteria

The following requirements must be met prior to attending Stage 2:

1) In line with HEE recommendations, all applicants must be current, professionally registered;
In line with HEE recommendations, all Level 7 delegates must be current, professionally registered;

  • Doctors,
  • Dentists,
  • Nurses (with/ without independent prescribing rights),
  • Midwives (with/ without independent prescribing rights),
  • Pharmacists (with/ without independent prescribing rights),
  • Paramedics,
  • Dental Therapists or Dental Hygienists

In line with insurance conditions, it is a center requirement that applicants provide their professional registration number in support of their application. This will be verified in addition to the candidate’s identity as part of the initial assessment process.

If English is not the applicant’s first language, an English language level of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 7.0 in all components, or equivalent, will be required. Only IELTS scores less than two years old will be accepted.

2) Members of professional registers who possess a valid licensing/registration number with the following organisations:

  • General Medical Council (GMC)
  • General Dental Council (GDC)
  • General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)

3) Internal candidates who have successfully completed Stage 1 training

4) External candidates who have completed foundation training at a different training institution and have evidence of the following:

  • Certification of completion of Foundation training

Before booking your Derma Medical course, it would be worth checking what would be required in your country to practice injectable. Every country will have differing own rules and regulations regarding aesthetic medicine.

Yes, as long as you are a registered medical professional on the list of who we train. We provide prescribers on the day to ensure you can carry out your practical training.

Following the course, however, you will need to buddy up with a local prescriber or use a prescriber service when ordering botulinum toxin to administer. Dermal fillers do not currently require a prescription. In line with GMC guidelines, prescribers need to consult patients face-to-face before prescribing botulinum toxin or similar prescription products.

We provide all cosmetic models for our training courses. We have 30+ live cosmetic models on every Combined Botox & Dermal Fillers training weekend to make sure you get lots of hands-on practice on real-life patients.

If you have any friends or family interested in being a cosmetic model for our training days they can get heavily discounted treatments for the purposes of teaching.
